Free Lunch Program Volunteering
We
are scheduled to provide volunteers on Tuesday October 7 at the Wesley
Center from 11:30AM-1:30PM. Please let Fr. Ignatius know if you can volunteer to help serve meals.
Introduction to Orthodoxy Class
Fr. Ignatius will
be offering a seven week Introduction to Orthodoxy class beginning on
Saturday October 4 at 4PM and meeting for the following six Saturdays after that. The class should last
about 1 1/2 hours. It is open to anybody: beginners who are interested
in exploring the Orthodox faith, or those who are already Orthodox and who
would like to learn more about their faith. A sign-up sheet is posted.
Topics to be covered are Worship, the Sacraments, Tradition, Relations with other Christians, and more.
Language Classes
We have two people from our
church community, Elena Bezugla and Rubina Knajian, who would like to
teach beginner’s classes in both Russian and Arabic respectively. These classes are offered for
children and adults and assume no prior knowledge of the language. As of right now, we anticipate that the Russian class will
begin in October and the Arabic class will begin in November. Cost
will be a $5 donation to the Church’s Building fund per class session.
Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board at church. Once we
have an idea of class size, then we will set a definite schedule
.
