Upcoming Events and Announcements

Thank you-
Thank you to Father Elias Khouri and concelebrating clergy
Father Lev Smith, Deacon Maximos Herman and Deacon Dustin Lyon for
celebrating services today.

Happy Father's Day-
May God grant all you fathers and godfathers many years!  Fr.
Ignatius encourages you to read an article entitled "Priests and the
Importance of Fatherhood" found at

The Apostle's Fast begins Monday, June 20 and ends with the
Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul on Wednesday, June 29.  If you have any
questions about the exact fasting rules during this period, consult
the printed St. Raphael calendar or talk with Fr. Ignatius.

Episcopal Elections-
At the Archdiocese Convention which will be held in Chicago
from July 25-31, among the decisions to be made, the clergy and lay
delegates will be nominating two episcopal candidates who will then be
elected by the Synod of Bishops. It is likely that one of the two men
elected will become our new bishop.  The seven candidates are: Rt.
Rev. Archimandrite John Abdalah, Rt. Rev. Archimandrite Michel Boghos,
Jeremy Davis, Rt. Rev. Archimandrite Daniel Griffith, Rt. Rev.
Archimandrite Daniel Keller, Rt. Rev. Archimandrite Anthony Michaels
and Rt. Rev. Archimandrite Nicholas Ozone.  Copies of the biographies
of each of the candidates are available in the narthex.  Fr. Ignatius
interested in any opinions members of St. Raphael Church have on these
candidates.  Your voice matters in this process and Fr. Ignatius will
take your opinions into consideration when he casts votes in July.

 Upcoming Services-
On Thursday June 23, we will celebrate the feast of the
Nativity of St. John the Forerunner with a Vesperal Liturgy at 6PM.
On Tuesday June 28, we will celebrate the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul
with a Vesperal Liturgy at 6PM.

Do You Have a Prayer Request?
Please give it to Fr. Ignatius and he will distribute it by
email to all those on the Prayer Chain.  If you wish to join the
Prayer Chain, please let Fr. Ignatius know.

Coffee Hour-
On Sunday June 26, the food for coffee hour will be provided by
the John the Baptist team.

Church Cleaning-
During the week following Sunday, June 19, the St. Nicholas
team will clean the nave, narthex, bookstore/library, stairs,
bathrooms and nursery room.

Food For Thought-
"True prayer occurs when one forgets that one is praying."
